Two Days Project Formulation Workshop was held at COMSATS Sahiwal. The said training
workshop was jointly organized by Pakistan Science Foundation (PSF) and Office of
Research, Innovation and Commercialization (ORIC), COMSATS Sahiwal.
Prof. Dr. Saleem Farooq Shaukat, Director COMSATS Sahiwal was the Chief Guest of
Opening ceremony whereas, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ashraf, Chairman, Pakistan Science
Foundation was the Chief Guest of Closing ceremony.
More than fifty (50) learned faculty members/ researchers from COMSATS Sahiwal,
COMSATS Vehari, University of Sahiwal, Sahiwal Medical College, GCU Faisalabad (Sahiwal
campus), Arid Agriculture University Sahiwal Campus, Quid-e-Azam Engineering College
Sahiwal and other higher education institution attended this training workshop.
The Trainers and resource persons (Dr. Shafiq ur Rehman, Vice Chancellor, Kohat
University of Science and Technology and Dr. Mirza Habib Ali, Director Research
Support, PSF) delivered sessions on key areas of writing high quality research proposals
for funding. Mr. Israr Khan, Scientific Officer, was the focal person from PSF whereas,
Dr. Ahmad Ali, Associate Professor / Incharge ORIC was the focal person from COMSATS
Sahiwal.
During closing ceremony, Prof. Dr. Saleem Farooq Shaukat extended his gratitude
to Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ashraf, Chairman PSF for arranging such useful training workshop
at COMSATS Sahiwal which will help young researchers to hunt funding for their research
projects. He further shared that CIIT is considered one the best Higher Education
Institutions (HEIs) in Pakistan. HEC has ranked CIIT at No.2 in terms of Research
Productivity. Recently, CIIT has got 1st position by winning highest number of research
projects under National Research Projects for Universities (NRPU) by HEC.
Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ashraf appreciated the effort of management of COMSATS for hosting
this workshop, which is joint effort of Pakistan Science Foundation and COMSATS
Sahiwal. He desired to continue such collaboration in future as well.
After successful completion of the sais training workshop, all participants were
awarded certificates whereas, the trainers/ resource persons were awarded souvenirs
by Prof. Dr. Saleem Farooq Shaukat, Director COMSATS Sahiwal.
The event ended up with group photo and refreshment.
